When Zhao Ran came out of the health clinic and saw his stepmother still waiting outside, he couldnβt help but feel a bit guilty. He offered an apologetic smile. “Stepmom, sorry to keep you waiting so long.”
Zhou Yun waved her hand, her face still flushed with a lingering redness. “Mmm… it’s fine…”
Only then did Zhao Ran notice how unusually red his stepmotherβs face was. She looked as if she had a fever, and he quickly asked with concern, “Stepmom, whatβs wrong? Your face is so redβare you feeling unwell?”
Zhou Yun hurriedly shook her head. “No, Zhao Ran, itβs nothing. Probably just the heat.”
Zhao Ran glanced curiously at the air conditioner not far away, blowing a steady stream of cool air, and felt somewhat puzzled. But he didnβt press further.
Just then, the doctor pushed the door open and stepped out.
By now, she had completely straightened her clothing, showing no signs of having just gone through several intense rounds of passionate activity.
She walked out, threw a flirtatious glance at Zhao Ran, and then turned to Zhou Yun, her tone dripping with suggestiveness. “Ms. Zhou, your sonβs body is perfectly healthyβin fact, heβs much stronger than the average man.”
Under normal circumstances, hearing such words might have made Zhou Yun happy for Zhao Ran. But at this moment, all she could picture in her mind was the scene of the two of them entangled naked. And for some reason, she felt the doctorβs gaze held a deeper meaning when looking at her.
Zhou Yun averted her eyes, nodding somewhat flustered. “Alright, thank you, Doctor. Weβll be going now.”
Zhao Ran exchanged a brief farewell with the doctor and turned to follow his stepmother out.
The doctor quickly called out to him, “Wait a moment.” She walked over, handed Zhao Ran a business card, and said, “When the test results come in, weβll notify you.”
Zhao Ran nodded, still processing the situation. Before Zhou Yun could turn back, the doctor rose on her tiptoes and lightly brushed her lips against his, then leaned in close to his ear and whispered something.
On the way back, walking beside his stepmother, Zhao Ran remained distracted by the doctorβs words, lost in a daze. From time to time, he glanced down at Zhou Yun beside him.
Zhou Yun was also absent-minded and didnβt notice Zhao Ranβs gaze. Each lost in their own thoughts, they made their way out of the hospitalβs main entrance.
It wasnβt until they were outside that Zhao Ran suddenly suggested, “Stepmom, being in the hospital made me feel a bit stuffy. How about we take a walk around here?”
The hospital grounds were quite pleasant, with well-maintained greenery, and there werenβt too many people around at the moment.
Zhou Yun nodded absentmindedly and walked alongside him.
Zhao Ran, whether intentionally or not, guided Zhou Yun toward quieter, more secluded paths. Before long, they gradually ventured deeper into the area.
Just as Zhao Ran was about to suggest they rest on a bench along the path, faint, muffled moans suddenly reached their ears.
Zhou Yun clearly heard it too. Realizing what might be happening, she grew embarrassed and quickly tried to pull Zhao Ran back. “Xiao Ran, letβs go back. We can take a walk another day.”
But Zhao Ran acted as though nothing were out of the ordinary. “Come on, Stepmom, we hardly ever get to take a walk together. Letβs explore a bit moreβlook how beautiful the scenery is here.”
With that, Zhao Ran directly took Zhou Yunβs arm and continued leading her deeper in.
Before Zhou Yun could refuse, and too embarrassed to put her unease into words, she had no choice but to let herself be guided further inward.
