The boy replied, “Don’t talk nonsense. We’re only together to focus on studying.”
“Boo…”
The group erupted in jeers, and the boy who had asked the question made a thumbs-down gesture at the one called Ah Xin.
“You’re not being honest, man. One time I saw you two go out together, and when the class monitor came back, her hair was all messy. And you still claim you’re only together to study?”
A boy with dyed blond hair laughed and said, “Come on, tell us, what’s our class monitor like?”
Ah Xin glanced at the girl playing badminton not far away and slowly answered, “Actually, I really like her. She’s understanding, gentle, and most importantly, she’s outstanding—almost flawless. Her only flaw might be that she’s a bit shy.”
The girl seemed to notice the group of boys staring in her direction and suddenly mishit the shuttlecock, sending it out of bounds.
“Haha…” “Whoa…” “The class monitor is blushing…”
The group burst into teasing laughter upon seeing her mistake, and the girl, now embarrassed, turned away to ignore them.
A few other girls also turned toward the commotion and giggled at their friend’s shyness.
The boys, however, weren’t ready to let it go. “Come on, tell us! Educate us single dogs a little—what’s love all about?”
Ah Xin seemed to ponder for a moment, then decided it wouldn’t hurt to share. He turned to them and said, “Love is sweet. I used to think going to school was exhausting, but now, the thought of being able to see her and spend time with her makes it all worthwhile. We motivate each other to improve, and hopefully, we’ll both get into the universities we want. It’s a beautiful thing.”
A few of the boys seemed dissatisfied with his answer and pressed further, “From the look of it, you haven’t done it with her yet, have you?”
Ah Xin shot the questioner a glare. “What are you talking about? Cut out that nonsense.”
The group booed him again.
The boy laughed and said, “Do you want me to show you some educational material?”
The other boys looked at him curiously, their interest piqued.
Huang Mancheng pulled out a very small book from his pocket titled “Spring Passion.” Judging by the name, it appeared to be pornographic.
Zhao Ran happened to catch a glimpse of the title and couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. These guys his age—where did they even dig up such an old-school item?
Almost instantly, the boys’ eyes lit up with a primal gleam as they crowded around him.
The book was tiny, only about half the size of a palm, so the text inside was correspondingly small and difficult to read.
The boy flipped through the pages and whispered, “This book is mainly about a student having an affair with his teacher. It describes how they develop feelings for each other during extra tutoring sessions.”
He turned to a specific page, pointed to a paragraph, and continued, “Look, right here—it even describes them going to bed together.”
Zhao Ran was also a little curious, but since he couldn’t openly join the huddle, he had to suppress his interest. The next moment, however, someone began reading out loud in a deliberately hushed, dramatic tone.
